The cost of attendance is an estimate of the costs of being enrolled for one year at Iowa State University. Students are assigned a financial aid budget based on their estimated cost of attendance, which is used to determine the maximum amount of financial aid needed. To help with understanding your cost of attendance, planning tools are available. Some of these tools can help you create budgets and lay out costs specific to your enrollment situation.
The ISU Office of Student Financial Aid Net Price Calculator (NPC) is intended for use by newly entering freshman (first time, full time).
This calculator is populated with the most recent ‘complete’ year of data available, per the Department of Education NPC template.
The next update will occur in the spring of 2017, upgrading to 2015-2016 data.
See a detailed estimate of 2016-2017 expenses by downloading and using the Expenses Estimator Tool (Excel).
You may be eligible to complete a cost of attendance adjustment form if your education-related expenses exceed the amount of financial aid included in your cost of attendance.
